Job Summary/ObjectiveÂ
Performs and interprets various chemical, microscopic, and bacteriologic tests to assist in theÂ
diagnosis and treatment of patients. Responsible for complex assignments requiring advancedÂ
technical skills, knowledge, and problem-solving abilities.Â
Essential Functions/Duties/ResponsibilitiesÂ
• Perform routine laboratory testing in serology, hematology, chemistry, urinalysis andÂ
immunohematology following established policies and procedures.Â
• Analyze test results, identify abnormalities, and communicate findings to appropriateÂ
medical personnel.Â
• Perform complex laboratory tests and maintain accurate documentation of all processesÂ
and results.Â
• Operate and maintain sophisticated laboratory instruments and equipment, ensuringÂ
proper calibration and functionality, including laboratory information system. Â
•  Maintain laboratory stock, restocking supplies, and managing inventory to supportÂ
uninterrupted laboratory operations.Â
• Collect specimens from patients while ensuring proper labeling, handling, and storage ofÂ
samples.Â
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical problems that may arise during testing.Â
• Monitor quality control measures to ensure accuracy and precision in test results.Â
• Maintain knowledge of laboratory safety and infection control procedures and comply withÂ
all relevant protocols and regulations.Â
• Participate in continuing education and training to remain current with developments in theÂ
field of medical technology.Â
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to provide timely and accurate diagnosticÂ
information.Â
• Other duties as assigned.
Skills/AbilitiesÂ
• In-depth knowledge of laboratory testing procedures and best practices.Â
• Proficiency in the use of laboratory equipment, including advanced analytical instruments.Â
• Ability to interpret test results accurately and communicate findings effectively.Â
• Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.Â
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.Â
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.Â
• Familiarity with laboratory quality control and safety standards.Â
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.Â
Education and ExperienceÂ
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or equivalentÂ
• Certification: Certified MLS, MT or CLS Â
• Experience: Prior laboratory experience preferred but not required. Â
Physical RequirementsÂ
• Ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive motions for extended periods.Â
• Manual dexterity to handle laboratory equipment and specimens with precision.Â
• Ability to lift and carry laboratory supplies or equipment as needed.Â
