Job Purpose
Mental health is increasingly being viewed as an integral part of general health. The purpose of the outpatient psychologist position is to fulfill a needed piece of BCHC’s comprehensive care model. The psychologist will address the emotional and cognitive needs of patients that are recovering from acute medical illness, adjusting to disability, and/or living with chronic illness. Additionally, he or she will use their unique skill set to address challenges that impede progress in recovery. This includes treating children that are medically complex that also struggle with mental health problems such as anxiety, depression, PTSD, and behavior problems, as well as essential functions such as sleep, feeding, and treatment adherence.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

| Provide outpatient psychotherapy to medically complex patients and their families from internal referral sources (physiatry, general pediatrics, neurology, psychiatry) and hospital discharges.                   | 80% |
| Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the medical team to address obstacles in medical treatments. | 10% |

Qualifications:
| Education: | Doctorate in Clinical Psychology Completion of an APA- or CPA- approved pre-doctoral internship. |
| Experience: | Pediatric experience preferred. |
| License/Certification/Credential: | Active or eligible license in state of Oklahoma. Board eligible or board certified. |
