Hatchery Entry Level - 1st Shift

Full-Time | Weekly Pay | Full Benefits

Schedule: 1st Shift | 5:30 AM until production is finished | 5 days per week
Days Off: Sunday (guaranteed) and one additional day during the week to be determined.

Bell & Evans is looking for dependable, hardworking individuals to join our Hatchery team as a Chick Room Attendant. In this role, you'll help care for newly hatched chicks and prepare them for transport to our broiler farms. This is a fast-paced, hands-on position that plays an important role in the beginning of our production process.

What You'll Do

• Move chick trolleys from hatchers to the chick storage area.
• Push and pull trolleys throughout the hatchery.
• Inspect chicks and remove cull chicks according to company standards.
• Place healthy chicks back into baskets for transport.
• Keep your work area clean, organized, and safe.
• Follow all food safety, animal welfare, and biosecurity procedures.
• Report any safety or quality concerns immediately.

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, agriculture, warehouse, or production experience is helpful, but not required.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.
• Dependable with strong attention to detail and the ability to work well in a team environment.

Physical Requirements

This is an active position that requires you to:

• Stand and walk for most of your shift.
• Push and pull chick trolleys throughout the day.
• Lift up to 20 pounds occasionally.
• Perform repetitive hand movements using both hands.
• Reach overhead when needed.
• Maintain good balance while working on wet or slippery floors.
• Work in a dusty environment due to chick fluff.
