JOB SUMMARY: 

The production analyst functions in the cost accounting/finance department to support production and inventory operations.  They ensure accurate financial and performance data is being captured and reported back to the functional areas through inventory movements and production order completion.  The cost accountant works on the front-line level with production to identify, quantity, and track variances throughout the process to help drive continuous improvement.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Other duties may be assigned. 

  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of production orders.
  • Provide first-tier system support to the inventory, production, and shipping areas.
  • Work with cost accounting management to identify and track variance opportunities.
  • Operate as a point of contact with the production floor for periodic variance reviews.
  • Provide profit and loss information at a department level in the production areas.
  • Represent accounting/finance/costing in all process reviews and changes related to production.
  • Drive continuous improvement on the production floor.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s degree in business, business administration, accounting/finance, or equivalent experience.  Experience in a production or inventory control environment is preferred.  Three to four years’ experience in a protein manufacturing environment is a plus.  Experience administering or working at a data management level in an ERP system.  Microsoft Business Central / Dynamics and Plus.
