Description

Venesco, LLC is hiring a Certified Nursing Assistant to provide services at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. CNA will provide care to active-duty service members in the Wounded Warrior Clinic. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those who serve our country!!

Hours of Performance: The contractor shall perform the services required under this contract 7:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Monday-Friday with a one (1) hour uncompensated meal break.


Duties:

1. Ensures all equipment is properly cleaned and stored at the end of each work shift.

2. Ensures preventive maintenance and routine cleaning are performed as directed.

3. Identify patient problems and assist in developing, maintaining, and evaluating patient care plan.

4. Establishes and maintains good interpersonal relationships with co-workers, families, peers, and

other team members.

5. Prepares patients for diagnostic testing and clinical procedures as directed.

6. Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living as required. Feed patients as required per MTF policy

and procedures and IAW JC guideline.

7. Ensure physician ordered vital signs are completed and recorded per MTF policy and procedures and

IAW JC guidelines.

8. Monitors and records physiological measurements in patient progress notes and team conferences.

9. Admits, discharges, and transfers patients as directed.

10. Orients new patients to the hospital environment.

11. Ensure compliance with standard of care and practice in accordance with all established policies,

procedures, and guidelines used in the medical treatment MTF and IAW JC guidelines.

12. Provides care within ethical and legal boundaries.

13. Complete orientation and competency verification programs in accordance with unit guidelines.

14. When assigned, will serve and participate in committees, functions and other meetings.

15. Provide relevant and timely information, and assists with decision-making and process improvement.

16. Will report to the Nurse Manager. Will take direction from charge nurse and house supervisor as

required in maintaining a safe environment for staff and patient(s).

17. When required, participate in the orientation, training, and evaluation of duty performance of newly

assigned personnel, as appropriate.

18. As required, participate in customer service initiatives and medical readiness activities, designed to enhance

health services.

Requirements

Degree/Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of an accredited Certified Nursing Assistant program or other acceptable training (i.e., military training).

Certifications: Basic Life Support Accredited by the American Heart Association.

Experience: At least one (1) years’ experience within the last three years as a CNA or equivalent

training

Licensure: Valid, unrestricted, CNA license from at least 1 state, territory, or commonwealth of the US


Additional requirements:

1. Shall be able to read, write, speak and understand English well enough to effectively communicate

with all patients and other health care providers.

2. Shall be knowledgeable of equipment and supply terminology and skill sufficient to identify and use

necessary equipment and supplies properly and to communicate proper use with nurses, medical staff,

patients, and family members.

3. Shall be knowledgeable and possess skills necessary to provide care appropriate to any age-related

needs of the patients. The Contract CNA shall demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and

development appropriate to the appropriate patient population served: Infants, Children, Adolescent,

Adults, and Geriatric (>65).

4. The contracted CNA will be knowledgeable in professional care theories, principles, practices, and

procedures to perform nursing assignments of moderate difficulty and experience in assessing adult and

geriatric patients, as appropriate.

5. Knowledge of computer operations and proficiency in the use of basic word processing, data entry and

automated medical records.
