Position: Gymnastics Instructor      Pay Rate: $16.50-$24.00

 

Join our team at YMCA Ayrlawn Program Center in Bethesda, Maryland as a gymnastics coach working with youth in our program! We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic individual who is passionate about teaching gymnastics and helping others develop their skills.

 

Some of the exciting things you will do as a Gymnastics Coach: 

  • Assists in oversight of all the gymnastic program activities, communicating with families and ensuring all equipment and supplies are available
  • Provides gymnastics instruction/or coach to children and/or adults under the direct supervision of the Gymnastics Director, following the philosophy and goals of the YMCA Gymnastics programs
  • Implement age-appropriate gymnastics lessons and programs for youth participants
  •  Provide instruction and guidance in gymnastics skills and techniques
  •  Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during gymnastics classes
  • Motivate and encourage participants to reach their full potential in gymnastics
  • Collaborate with other coaches and staff to create a positive and inclusive gymnastics environment
  • Establishes structure and routines for children setting boundaries and behavior guidelines
  • Attends parent/child events as required.
  • Effectively communicates with parents throughout the program year

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience coaching gymnastics, preferably with youth athletes
  • Knowledge of gymnastics skills and techniques
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certification in CPR and First Aid (or willingness to obtain upon hire)
  • Clear the local jurisdiction requirements for criminal background and/or fingerprinting
  • Will be required to complete the YMCA Gymnastics Fundamentals Course. These courses may be waived by the Gymnastics Director if background and experience is determined to be equivalent.
