Director, Maintenance, Grounds & Project Management

The Director of Maintenance, Grounds & Project Management provides leadership and oversight for two campuses including maintenance operations, grounds services, and capital projects. This position ensures safe, efficient, and reliable operation of campus facilities while managing renovations, deferred maintenance initiatives, and new construction projects. This position reports to the Executive Director of Facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise maintenance and grounds personnel, including scheduling, performance oversight, and time approval
  • Oversee preventive and corrective maintenance programs for building systems and infrastructure
  • Manage renovation and capital improvement projects from planning through completion
  • Monitor departmental budgets, approve invoices, and oversee procurement of supplies
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director of Facilities to support institutional priorities and long-range facilities planning
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and institutional policies

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related technical field from an institution accredited by a Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA)-approved accreditor
  • Minimum six (6) years of relevant experience, including four (4) years in a supervisory role
  • At least two (2) years of budget oversight experience
  • Strong leadership, project management, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within an administrative leadership team
