Welder

 

This position is responsible for the creation and/or refabrication of the trailer or MEGC (Multiple Element Gas Container) unit. All areas of performing fabrication work are included with this position such as welding, reading blueprints, using overhead cranes, brazing, torch cutting, drilling, sawing, layout, fit up, etc. Large sections of metal are used in the performance of this function; therefore, it is necessary to work in a team environment to complete the assigned task.


RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POSITION:

  • Create or repair a trailer or MEGC unit as directed. Read, understand, and comply with job specifications, work orders, and industry standards blueprints such as CGA and ISO 9001.
  • Follow safety guidelines and company procedures while performing the task of this function.
  • Follow established maintenance procedures for equipment being used.
  • Communicate with fellow workers to ensure smooth workflow and assist in building dedicated team effort to work efficiently and accomplish improvement projects.
  • Replace company tools in their designated locations upon completion and maintain good housekeeping habits.
  • Work in other areas of the facility at the direction of the area supervisor efficiently and effectively while maintaining good teambuilding skills.
  • Notify the supervisor of all deviations as incurred.
  • Assist in developing revised drawings as appropriate.
  • Initiate process improvements within the department and your functions associated with the fabrication/repair process.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
