Job Description
Position Summary: Under the direction of a supervisor or lead, performs a variety of tasks and operations that are required to support and execute CNC Swiss department priorities and goals. This includes operating CNC Swiss machines, inspecting parts, completing documentation and performing preventative maintenance and housekeeping duties within the manufacturing space. Adherence to established Standard Work Instructions (SWI’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and Quality Management System (QMS) is essential.
Principle Duties / Responsibilities:
  • Operate multiple CNC Swiss machines to support production goals and customer on time delivery.
  • Perform job changeovers.
  • Monitor tool wear and perform basic offsets or adjustments to maintain part quality.
  • Perform in-process inspections and identify parts out of tolerance.
  • Proactively report equipment or tooling issues to supervisor and assist in troubleshooting minor issues.
  • Interpret and apply knowledge of job travelers, blueprints, and GD&T symbols.
  • Accurately execute EPICOR ERP transactions for production tracking.
  • Accurately document production by completing forms, reports, logs and records of jobs and equipment.
  • Operate and maintain equipment by following established procedures, perform preventive maintenance.
  • Adhere to Tyber Medical Safety and OSHA requirements.
  • Adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), Standard Work Instructions (SWI’s), Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s), Good Documentation Practices (GDP), Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Other duties as assigned.
Experience / Core Competencies:
  • Must be a CNC Swiss Machinist l for 1 year or have sufficient prior experience.
  • Successful completion of assessment evaluation.
  • Proven ability to operate and maintain multiple machines effectively.
  • Familiarity with guide bushing and collet adjustments for specific material types.
  • Moderate knowledge of tool wear and offset adjustments.
  • Basic knowledge of troubleshooting minor machine and quality issues
  • Moderate knowledge of data entry, ERP, and job traveler execution.
  • Moderate knowledge of SOP, SWI, cGMP, GDP and QMS.
  • Moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven knowledge of measuring tools, i.e., calipers, micrometers, vision systems, hard gages, etc.
  • Proven knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints, set-up sheets, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) symbols.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal supervision, a strong sense of urgency, and effectively under pressure.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong finger and hand dexterity.
  • Strong visual and auditory acuity.
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time.
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs.
Required / Preferred Education
  • High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
  • Preferred 2 years of CNC Swiss machining experience.
