Senior CNC Mill Programmer (5-Axis)

Bethlehem, PA | Full-Time | Hybrid flexibility available

About the Opportunity

Join Tyber, part of the Exalta Group, where precision machining meets medical device manufacturing. As our Senior CNC Mill Programmer, you'll program and optimize advanced milling equipment — including multi-spindle 5-axis machines — producing components that end up in life-changing medical devices. You'll work on a modern machine lineup (Haas, Hurco, Robodrill, and multi-spindle 5-axis platforms), mentor developing programmers, and have a direct voice in how our New Product Introduction team brings new parts to production.

This role offers hybrid flexibility: programming and CAM work can be performed remotely, with on-site presence for setups, prove-outs, and production support.

What You'll Do

  • Program, edit, and optimize CNC mill programs in SolidCAM for single-spindle machines (Haas, Hurco, Robodrill) and multi-spindle 5-axis milling machines
  • Perform machine setups and changeovers to support production and on-time customer delivery
  • Optimize tool paths for efficiency, precision, and minimal tool wear
  • Load, verify, and debug CNC programs; adjust offsets to achieve design specifications
  • Apply advanced knowledge of CNC mill G-code
  • Mentor Level 1, 2, and 3 CNC Mill Programmers and help raise the skill level of the department
  • Create setup sheets and work instructions
  • Execute EPICOR ERP transactions and complete production documentation
  • Perform preventive maintenance and follow established equipment procedures
  • Work within our quality and safety framework: cGMP, SWIs, SOPs, GDP, QMS, and OSHA requirements

What You Bring

  • Several years of hands-on CNC mill programming experience, including significant experience programming 5-axis machines (multi-spindle 5-axis experience a plus)
  • Proficiency with CAM software — SolidCAM preferred; experience with comparable platforms (Mastercam, Esprit, Fusion 360, etc.) welcomed
  • Strong command of G-code and the ability to debug and optimize programs at the machine
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T symbols
  • Excellent knowledge of measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, vision systems, hard gages)
  • Working knowledge of ERP systems and job traveler execution
  • Ability to create setup sheets and clear work instructions
  • Self-directed with a strong sense of urgency; effective in a production environment
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Nice to Have

  • Experience in medical device, aerospace, or other regulated precision manufacturing
  • Familiarity with cGMP, GDP, and QMS environments
  • Experience mentoring or leading other programmers

Physical Requirements

  • Strong finger and hand dexterity; strong visual and auditory acuity
  • Ability to stand for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 40 lbs

Education

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required

Why Exalta

  • Precision medical device manufacturing — stable, growing, and meaningful work
  • Modern equipment and investment in machining technology
  • Mentorship-oriented culture with a clear path to lead-level responsibility
  • Hybrid flexibility uncommon in machining roles
