Responsibilities
- Accurately and thoroughly collects, analyzes and records demographic, insurance/financial and clinical data in computer system. Ensures information source is appropriate and all required documentation are on file Â
- Maintains knowledge and understanding of insurance verification and understanding of insurance plans Â
- Answers telephone calls promptly and accurately. Takes telephone messages and directs calls in an appropriate and professional manner Â
- Communicates effectively to provide appropriate education regarding patient financial obligations through POS and estimates. Â
- Participates in performance improvement initiatives and demonstrates initiative to improve quality and customer services with a goal to exceed customer expectations. Â
- Maintain ability to perform roles associated with patient self service registration processes Â
- Monitors and maintains multiple work queues Â
- Refer patients who need financial assistance with their clinic/hospital bills to a Financial Advocate Â
- Perform functions other than described due to extenuating circumstances Â
- Schedules walk in procedures and collaborates with central scheduling regarding other needsÂ
Qualifications
Education:
- Requires minimally a high school diploma or GED
Experience:
- Prior customer service experience
License(s)/Certification(s):
- Hands only CPR
