Civil Engineer I/II - Subdivision Improvement Division

Job Duties

• Performs a variety of more difficult technical and supportive professional engineering tasks.
• Attends meetings for preliminary plan discussion. 
• Reviews and recommend approval of plans submitted with subdivision applications for underground utility installation, construction by other governmental units, and plans for all work conducted. 
• Reviews associated drainage. 
• Coordinates pre-construction meeting. 
• Attends numerous meetings with other Road Commission departments and various outside governmental and private agencies relative to permit activities.
• Must perform duties in a professional and courteous manner to promote a positive image of the Road Commission for Oakland County.
• Regular and predictable onsite job attendance is an essential function of this position.
• Requires a daily schedule that supports RCOC hours of operation.

Special Experience/Education

• A bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• A minimum of one to three (1-3) years of experience commensurate with the duties described above is required.
  
• Must possess and maintain a valid State of Michigan driver's license.
