Job Summary

The PET/CT Technologist is responsible for performing high-quality PET and CT imaging procedures in accordance with physician orders, established protocols, and regulatory standards. This role ensures patient safety, accurate imaging, and exceptional patient care while maintaining compliance with all radiation safety guidelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform PET and CT imaging procedures following established protocols
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals in compliance with radiation safety standards
  • Ensure proper patient identification, screening, and preparation prior to imaging
  • Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to adverse reactions
  • Operate PET/CT scanners and related imaging equipment safely and efficiently
  • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in the imaging system
  • Perform quality control and routine equipment checks
  • Adhere to ALARA principles and all radiation safety regulations
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA guidelines
  • Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare staff to ensure optimal patient care

Qualifications

  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nuclear Medicine Technology or related field
  • Current ARRT (N) and/or NMTCB certification required
  • CT certification preferred or required (ARRT-CT)
  • Valid state licensure, if applicable
  • Current BLS certification
  • Knowledge of PET radiopharmaceuticals and CT imaging protocols
