The Opportunity

The Housekeeper is responsible for cleaning, maintaining, and preparing member’s homes and rental properties to established cleanliness standards. Housekeepers are responsible for cleaning bedrooms, bathrooms, living rooms, and kitchens. This role ensures a safe, sanitary, and welcoming environment for members and guests. 

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Cleaning and resetting all guest areas and bathrooms
  • Straightening and organizing furniture
  • Dusting, sweeping, mopping, and vacuuming
  • Scrubbing, sanitizing, and wiping surfaces
  • Emptying trash and recycling
  • Washing dishes and maintaining clean kitchen areas
  • Cleaning kitchens, bedrooms, bathrooms, and common spaces within homes
  • Servicing multiple homes and public spaces during each workday
  • Providing courteous and helpful service to members and guests, including communicating any requests or preferences to supervisors
  • Promoting a positive image of the property by maintaining a pleasant and professional demeanor in all guest interactions
  • Completing assigned tasks within designated timeframes as directed by supervisors
  • Complying with Moonlight Basin’s Grooming and Uniform Policies
  • Performing additional duties as assigned, which may fall outside the standard scope of responsibilities, based on business needs

  • Proficient in English reading, writing, and comprehension; additional language skills are a plus 
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively interact with team members, leadership, and members/guests
  • Exceptional attention to detail in all cleaning and maintenance tasks
  • High level of integrity, reliability, and honesty
  • Ability to perform duties efficiently while maintaining quality standards

Qualifications

  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs as needed.
  • Reliable, positive, and professional attitude with a commitment to quality and teamwork.
  • Must comply with Moonlight Basin’s Dress and Grooming policies
  • Ability to complete tasks in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful hospitality environment with unpredictable business levels
  • CPR/First Aid Certification (preferred) 

Working Conditions

This position spends approximately 90% of the time working indoors within residential homes and 10% outdoors in all weather conditions. Work hours generally begin at 9:00 AM and conclude between 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM, depending on operational needs.

Outdoor duties may involve exposure to snow, rain, mud, uneven terrain, and occasionally slippery surfaces—conditions typical of a residential mountain community. Indoor work takes place in temperature-controlled environments with moderate noise levels.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 10 hours per shift)
  • Ability to bend, stoop, reach, lift, and carry up to 50 pounds independently
  • Must have the stamina to perform physically demanding tasks, including repetitive motions such as scrubbing, vacuuming, dusting, etc. 
  • Ability to safely navigate slippery or uneven floors and tight workspaces
  • Capable of hearing, speaking, and seeing well enough to communicate effectively in a noisy lodge setting
  • Comfortable working long shifts, weekends, holidays, and variable hours based on seasonal business demands
