The Opportunity
Moonlight Basin is seeking a talented and passionate Pastry Cook to work closely with the Executive Pastry Chef and Pastry Sous/Lead, crafting delicious desserts and confectionery, designing seasonal menus, and developing new recipes for the pastry needs of our property.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Scale and label ingredients prior to mixing and completing recipes.
- Mix recipes according to procedure as outlined by the Chef or in the recipe binder.
- Bake prepped items according to procedure as outlined by the Chef or in the recipe binder.
- Prepare Grab & Go items for assorted areas on property.
- Carry items to the Members Lounge, buffet display, or Employee Dining, ensuring clean, aesthetic presentation.
- Garnish items as instructed.
- Monitor the stock of baking ingredients and notify the Executive Pastry Chef when new supplies, ingredients, or equipment are needed.
- Follow correct sanitation procedures as instructed.
- Keep kitchen work and storage areas clean and organized at all times.

- Ability to read recipes and follow directions accurately.
Qualifications
- Two or more years of experience working in the food industry as a Pastry Cook or Baker.
- High school diploma.
- Ability to read and speak fluent English.
- Ability to efficiently and safely handle knives, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment such as slicers, grinders, choppers, and industrial mixers.
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Supervisory Responsibilities
This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Working Conditions
This position works in a fast-paced kitchen environment, requiring close coordination with the pastry and culinary teams to meet daily production needs. Hours may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays based on business demands.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds multiple times a day.
- Ability to perform repetitive motions of the hands and fingers.
- Ability to frequently bend and twist.
- Visual acuity for near and depth perception and color differentiation, for reading recipes, writing orders, and checking the appearance of food products.
