Cristek Interconnects, LLC, a Qnnect company, is headquartered in Anaheim, CA, with divisions in Minden, NV and North Billerica, MA which specializes in contract build-to-print cable and harness assemblies for military product. Cristek is a preferred supplier to several major military and aerospace prime contractors. Cristek has consistently earned the trust of its customers by combining solid interconnect design and manufacturing expertise with a "can-do" entrepreneurial spirit. As a result, they have earned numerous industry and customer awards. Cristek is now looking for the newest member of its team.


Working as part of the Quality Assurance team, the Testing Operator will play a key role to ensure that cable and harness assemblies meet quality standards, industry regulations, customer specifications, IPC-620, J-STD and Cristek Best Practices. This role will report to the Quality Manager. This role is responsible for testing, and ensuring the quality and functionality of electrical cable and wire harness assemblies used in the aerospace industry. The Testing Operator will collaborate with the other members of the Quality team, as well as the Production, Sales and Engineering teams to maintain product integrity and improve processes. The ability to perform effectively in a manufacturing environment while meeting delivery schedules and customer requirements is critical to this position.

  

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Read and comprehend, in English, the customer Drawings, Parts List, Wire List, Processes, Specifications, and assembly Routers for step-by-step instructions on how the cable assembly was built, in order to prepare for testing.
  • Testing: Conduct electrical and functional tests on cables and wire harness assemblies using automated and manual test equipment. Testing for Continuity, Isolation, DWV, and IR using multi-point testing units.
  • Quality Control: Verify product integrity by identifying defects such as open circuits, short circuits, miswires, and continuity  issues.
  • Troubleshooting: Collaborate with MRB team to diagnose and resolve faults, following technical schematics, wiring diagrams, and testing procedures.
  • Equipment Operation: Identify and open test programs on Nexeya MPT and MK Systems test machines, and identify and build an inventory of test fixtures to be connected to the cable and harness assemblies. Connect test fixtures to equipment and run existing test programs. 
  • Use continuity testers, Fluke meters, multimeters, hi-pot testers, TDR, ESS chambers, and other electrical test devices based on customer drawing requirements.
  • Ensure correct voltage is programmed prior to testing.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate test reports, log results, and communicate findings to Supervisor.
  • Compliance: Ensure adherence to industry standards (e.g., IPC/WHMA-A-620) and customer requirements.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Sales and Engineering, and Quality Control personnel to enhance product quality and resolve issues.
  • Troubleshooting  & Recommendations: Identify and report all test failures to MRB team, and collaborate with Sales, Engineers and Production teams to implement corrective and preventive actions. 
  • Compliance & Safety: Requires adherence to safety protocols when handling electrical testing equipment. Ensure the use of PPE when testing assemblies. Maintain a clean and organized testing area 

Requirements

     WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  •  Minimum 2 years’ experience in cable and wire harness testing and manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with electrical testing equipment and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

 EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

  •  High school diploma or equivalent (technical certifications in testing or IPC standards are a plus).
  • J-STD Certification is required
  • IPC/WHMA-A-620 Certification is required

 REQUIRED SKILLS/WORKING CONDITIONS

  •  This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is  subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be fluent in reading, writing and speaking/understanding English.
  • Must be able to pass Visual Acuity requirements (color, depth perception and field of vision).
  • Must be able to work under a microscope for inspection purposes.
  • Must be able to pass Manual Dexterity requirements (handling small parts effectively)
  • Must be able to use and understand how to read measuring devices (ruler, tape measure, caliper, etc.).
  • Strong understanding of IPC/WHMA-A-620 and J-STD standards for wire harness assembly.
  • Must  possess sufficient hand and upper body strength and gross motor skills to route cable bundles of various sizes, lengths and weights (cable assemblies regularly weigh more than 5 lbs. and some exceed several hundred lbs. and need to be moved around on large wooden spools).
  • Must be able to demonstrate Technical Literacy (ability to read and accurately interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, Parts Lists and blueprints or demonstrate the ability to learn this process).
  • Must be able to sit for sustained periods of time (3-4 hours at a time).
  • Must follow strong safety standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent  attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to work as part of a team.
  • Basic computer skills for documentation and report generation.
