About The Role
As a Room Attendant in our 40 Housekeeping department, you will play a key role in creating a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our guests. You will be responsible for maintaining guest rooms and surrounding areas to the highest standards of cleanliness and presentation. This hourly, full-time position requires attention to detail, reliability, and a strong commitment to guest satisfaction, as well as the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
What You'll Do
- Clean and service guest rooms according to established standards, procedures, and checklists
- Make beds, change linens, and replace towels and guest amenities as needed
- Dust and polish furniture, fixtures, and equipment in guest rooms and corridors
- Vacuum carpets, sweep and mop hard floors, and ensure all surfaces are clean and tidy
- Clean and sanitize bathrooms, including toilets, showers, sinks, mirrors, and floors
- Replenish room supplies such as toiletries, tissues, coffee/tea, and stationery
- Inspect rooms for maintenance issues, damages, or safety hazards and promptly report them
- Ensure proper use, storage, and care of housekeeping equipment, carts, and cleaning supplies
- Follow all safety, sanitation, and health regulations, including proper handling of chemicals
- Respond to guest requests and questions in a polite, professional, and timely manner
- Adhere to property standards for lost and found items and handle guest property respectfully
- Work closely with the housekeeping team and supervisors to meet daily room quotas and priorities
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance and uphold company policies and procedures
- Assist with cleaning public areas, hallways, and back-of-house areas as assigned
- Participate in training sessions and meetings to maintain knowledge of cleaning standards and procedures
Qualifications
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, or cleaning experience preferred but not required
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions in English
- Strong attention to detail and high standards for cleanliness and presentation
- Ability to work on your feet for extended periods and to bend, lift, push, and pull housekeeping carts and equipment
- Capability to lift and move items such as linens, supplies, and small furniture as needed (within reasonable weight limits)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work a consistent full-time schedule
- Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts as required by business needs
- Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Respectful, professional demeanor when interacting with guests and colleagues
- Commitment to following safety procedures and proper use of cleaning chemicals and equipment
