About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Structural EIT/ Structural Designer to join our established team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design and analysis of substation structural components, ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for utility and industrial clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform structural analysis and design of steel structures, foundations, and support systems in compliance with applicable codes (ASCE, ACI, AISC, IEEE, NESC).
  • Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and bills of materials.
  • Review vendor shop drawings for conformance to construction documents.
  • Coordinate with electrical, civil, and protection & control engineers to ensure integrated design solutions.
  • Conduct site visits for data collection, constructability reviews, and field engineering support.
  • Support project management activities including scope development, scheduling, budgeting, and client communication.
  • Progress into developing physical layout designs for high-voltage substations (69kV to 500kV), including equipment arrangement, bus configurations, and bill of materials.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate. Candidates hired without their EIT will have the title of "Designer" and will be expected to obtain their EIT for career progression.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from ABET accredited University.
  • Interest in learning Power Industry standards (IEEE, ANSI, NESC, ASCE).
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.


Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering
  • Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, RISA, Staad, SAP, Tedds, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar
