                                    JOB DESCRIPTION

POSITION TITLE:         The Cove Host/Cashier                                   JOB CODE:  # 217217

REPORTS TO:              The Cove Supervisor

DEPARTMENT:             Food and Beverage

REPORTS TO: Cove Supervisor

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Greets guests as they enter and exit.
  2. Always smile and have a pleasant facial expression when in view of guests.
  3. Be hospitable, courteous, and helpful with our guests at all times.
  4. Follow the rotation at all times unless a guest requests a specific table. 
  5. Process payments, take drink orders, and walk the guests to their table.
  6. Process all receipts and paperwork properly.
  7. Responsible for all cash transactions at beginning and end of shift.
  8. Verifies all coupons & comps for dates and verifies comps.
  9. Answer the phone in a polite and courteous manner. 
  10. Roll silverware at the end of the shift or as needed.
  11. Always wear nonslip footwear.
  12. Perform any other duties requested by the Sous Chef, Supervisors, or Manager.

EDUCATION AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

High school graduate or GED equivalent.  Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary languages of the work location.  Knowledge of the sequence of service and buffet procedures, generally involving one year minimum, as a bus person.  Must be customer orientated. 

LICENSE / PERMIT REQUIREMENTS: 

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:   

Must be able to stand and be upwardly mobile for periods of up to four hours in length.  Must have good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel and have the ability to lift bus pans and trays frequently weighing up to 25 pounds. The following activities are normally required to perform these functions:  stand,   walk,  bend,  reach,   read,  write,  eye to hand coordination,  depth perception, effective verbal communication,  strong math skills,  excellent organizational skills.
