Position Overview

The Account Processor at United Health Services (UHS) plays an important role in supporting healthcare revenue cycle operations by helping claims move accurately and efficiently from review to reimbursement. This position resolves billing edits, follows up with payers, and helps maintain financial integrity. Through close collaboration with a team that values compassion, trust, and teamwork, the Account Processor supports patient access, organizational performance, and community health while using modern financial systems to deliver meaningful results. Job Responsibilities 

Essential Functions: 

  • Review claim status in Epic to identify and resolve edits preventing timely claim billing 
  • Analyze aging worklists to contact payers, obtain claim status, and rebill or adjust open balances as appropriate 
  • Review electronic claim rejections and take corrective action to ensure accurate and timely resubmission 
  • Evaluate claims and payments to confirm accurate reimbursement based on charge entry knowledge and payer requirements 
  • Document all claim, payer, and encounter actions thoroughly within Epic 

Scope and Impact: 

  • Contribute directly to revenue cycle outcomes by resolving claim issues and supporting timely reimbursement 
  • Exercise judgment within established guidelines when contacting third‑party payers and resolving claim discrepancies 
  • Update patient registration information to ensure accurate insurance billing and reduce claim delays 
  • Recommend and forward refund requests for approval and processing in alignment with organizational procedures 
  • Travel occasionally between facilities, offices, and other assigned locations as needed to support operational and departmental requirements; possess reliable means of traveling independently throughout the workday when such travel is required 

Compliance and Professional: 

  • Adhere to safety rules, attendance expectations, and departmental standards to support a safe and reliable work environment 
  • Complete required training and perform duties in compliance with billing, documentation, and payer requirements 
  • Safeguard sensitive data by following established security policies and procedures, using systems responsibly, and promptly reporting potential security incidents, risks, or policy violations 
  • As applicable to your role, support cybersecurity and data protection requirements throughout the supplier lifecycle by coordinating vendor risk assessments, monitoring third-party compliance, and promptly reporting identified supply chain or cybersecurity risks

  • Complete assigned duties at other locations as needed to support operational priorities

Position Qualifications 

Required: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 

Preferred: 

  • Up to 1 year of healthcare experience working in the healthcare industry in any job function 
  • Up to 1 year of direct experience performing the exact or very similar duties required by the job within the same role or function 
  • Up to 1 year of technical/systems experience using specialized tools, software, or equipment required for the role 
  • Up to 1 year of customer/patient-facing experience directly interacting and communicating with the public
