Fisher Associates is seeking Construction Inspectors, Engineering Technicians, and Construction Management Team Members to support transportation and civil construction projects through project management, inspection, and quality assurance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform field inspections to ensure construction aligns with plans, specifications, and applicable standardsÂ
- Collect materials samples (soil, concrete, asphalt) and document testing resultsÂ
- Monitor construction quality, progress, and workmanshipÂ
- Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, and photo documentationÂ
- Identify and communicate non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actionsÂ
- Ensure compliance with PennDOT, NYSDOT, local, and federal requirementsÂ
- Observe, document, and report jobsite safety concernsÂ
Requirements
- B.S. in Engineering, Science, Environmental or related field preferredÂ
- Experience in construction inspection, civil engineering, or construction management preferred
- Familiarity with roadway, bridge, or heavy civil construction preferred (PennDOT or NYSDOT experience preferred)Â
- Strong  attention to detail with solid documentation and communication skillsÂ
- Ability to work outdoors in active construction environments
- Valid Driver’s LicenseÂ
- Certifications are a plus or willingness to obtain: ACI Field Testing Technician, NICET Highway Construction, PennDOT Concrete, NECEPT AsphaltÂ
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- Ability to lift up to 25 poundsÂ
- Ability to safely access and navigate active construction sitesÂ
- Capable of walking on uneven terrainÂ
- Work environments may include office and field settings, with exposure to dust, noise, fumes, and weather conditionsÂ
