Overview

Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues. To support the mission of Helio Health, the Counselor l will review of main responsibilities. The Counselor l will work (days) on a full time basis out of Helio Health’s Binghamton Inpatient Detox program.

 

Schedule: Sun-Thurs OR Tues-Sat

 

Pay rate: up to $37 per hour

 

In addition to Helio Health’s comprehensive benefits package, Full-Time Licensed Counselors/Therapists are eligible for a Sign-On Incentive between $1,500 - $3,000 depending on licensure!

Responsibilities

  • Maintain a case load of patients seeking treatment from the effects of substance use and/or mental health disorders.
  • Perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping.
  • Participate in program, administrative and clinical committees as assigned.   
  • Relate effectively with staff, clients, and community while upholding confidentiality requirements.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma/GED required AND demonstrated steady progress towards QHP status:
    • QHP status includes active enrolment in CASAC or Associate’s or Bachelor’s level Human Services program.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Services with CASAC-T preferred.
  • One year counseling/human services experience preferred.
  • Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
  • Knowledge of addiction/recovery, behavioral health, self-help group process and principles of counseling. 
  • Proficiency with basic computer applications.
