JOB SUMMARY/OBJECTIVEÂ
The Compression Mold Operator 1 is responsible for performing entry-level compression molding operations in support of aerospace manufacturing requirements. This position supports the setup, operation, monitoring, and documentation of compression molding equipment used to produce precision components while working under direct supervision and established process controls.
The Compression Mold Operator 1 is expected to learn department processes, material handling requirements, tooling preparation, inspection methods, and aerospace quality standards while maintaining safe and efficient production practices. This position is commonly obtained following a temporary Manufacturing Associate 1 training period and conversion into the department, though direct hire placement may occur based on business needs. To excel in this key role, you must be able to communicate clearly and work effectively in a team-oriented manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Including but not limited to:
- Operate compression molding equipment in accordance with approved work instructions, process sheets, and production schedules.Â
- Assist with mold setup, tooling preparation, material loading, and press operation under supervision.Â
- Monitor molding cycles and production processes to ensure consistent part quality and process compliance.Â
- Perform basic adjustments and notify supervisors or leads of process deviations or equipment concerns.Â
- Remove, trim, clean, and prepare molded components for inspection or secondary operations.Â
- Follow all material handling, identification, and traceability requirements.
- Perform in-process and visual inspections using approved inspection criteria and measuring tools.Â
- Accurately complete production documentation, inspection records, and traceability paperwork.Â
- Verify material identification, lot numbers, and work order information throughout production operations.Â
- Report defects, nonconformances, or quality concerns to supervisors, Quality, or Engineering personnel as appropriate.Â
- Support compliance with AS9100 and internal quality system requirements.
- Participate in on-the-job training and departmental cross-training activities.Â
- Work closely with experienced operators, leads, and supervisors to develop process knowledge and manufacturing proficiency.Â
- Support teamwork and departmental flexibility based on production needs.
- Follow all company safety policies and manufacturing procedures.Â
- Properly utilize required PPE and comply with ESD and controlled manufacturing environment requirements.Â
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas in accordance with housekeeping and 5S standards.Â
- Support routine machine cleaning and basic equipment care activities.
- Maintain regular attendance and dependability.Â
- Demonstrate professionalism and a willingness to learn.Â
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, leads, and team members.Â
- Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required.Â
- Technical or manufacturing training preferred.Â
- Prior manufacturing experience preferred but not required.Â
- Experience in molding, assembly, or aerospace manufacturing environments is beneficial.Â
- Familiarity with AS9100, ISO, or similar quality standards is a plus.Â
- Ability to read and interpret basic work instructions and process documentation.Â
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered.
PHYSICAL/ENVIRONMENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- This position is conducted primarily in a warehouse and production environment and involves frequent movement, including walking, standing, lifting, and handling materials. Work may require operating material-handling equipment and performing tasks in areas with varying temperatures, noise levels, and typical industrial conditions. - Full-time position.Â
- Standard work schedule is a minimum of forty (40) hours per week.Â
