Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies (CWT) is a leading supplier of building envelope solutions that effectively drive energy efficiency and sustainability in commercial and residential applications. We are looking for a Senior Product Manager - Rolled Goods, located remotely.

 

Job Summary:

The Product Manager is responsible for establishing and executing the rolled goods product strategy in alignment with Carlisle Weatherproofing Technologies' overarching strategy. This role includes ownership of product lines and the development of go-to-market strategies, ensuring the value proposition remains credible and distinct. The Product Manager drives profitable growth by creating programs that deliver differential value compared to competitors for customers. They are also responsible for educating and training the sales team on the value propositions of new and existing products.

 

Additionally, the Product Manager constructs and communicates long-term product roadmaps, oversees product planning, and ensures effective execution throughout the product life cycle. This involves gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, and collaborating closely with sales, research and development, technical services, operations, marketing, and support teams to achieve revenue growth and customer satisfaction goals. Furthermore, the role requires ensuring that the products align with the company’s overall strategy and objectives while gaining comprehensive knowledge and experience with the assigned products and systems.

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Establish and direct the overall strategy and roadmap for new and existing products
  • Champion for product ideation, incubation, development, testing, production, rollout and performance analysis for new products
  • Lead the Stage Gate process for rolled good products; actively manage Henry’s New Product Development Process
  • Responsible for productivity, profitability, customer acceptance and lifecycle management of existing products
  • Oversee the product testing process with R&D, Product Stewardship and third parties for compliance and regulatory
  • Partner with key stakeholders in sales, marketing, operations, finance and customer service to ensure superior performance and growth for the entire product portfolio
  • Conduct market research and compile information for trend analysis in the assigned products and systems
  • Gather intelligence on competitive products, pricing and promotion and compile analysis in the assigned products and systems; be an expert with respect to the competition
  • Make strategic recommendations regarding product assortment that will address tactical issues
  • Establish product strategies to ensure product placement through all channels of distribution; set pricing to meet revenue and profitability goals
  • SKU management: generate recommendations for new product additions and product deletions
  • Create new product positioning and establish recommended price points
  • Understand needs and execute sales tools and collaterals with the Marketing Communications team for both internal and external customers
  • Own the development and implementation of a go-to-market plan for the product line
  • Expectation to understand, participate in, and support company COS initiatives, with focus on developing a lean mindset.
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Knowledge of the financial components of product and marketing management, including product profit contributions (cost, pricing, mix), P&L statements, budgets and other financial metrics
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret/ adapt system procedures or operating concepts to fit new situations
  • Ability to conceptualize, organize and execute new initiatives
  • Strong organizational skills - attention to detail and Self-Motivator - willing to take the initiative
  • Strong knowledge and proficiency in data software: Microsoft Office Suite (required), CRM (preferably Salesforce.com), JDE (preferred)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills necessary to effectively exercise tact, discretion, judgment and diplomacy when interacting and/or negotiating with all levels of internal and external customers

Education and Experience:

  • Required:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field
    • Minimum of ten (10)+ years of successful sales and product management experience
    • Experience with full life cycle product management, P&L management, market segmentation, brand development in the construction industry
    • Previous project management experience in a cross-functional environment; involving successfully organizing, planning, and executing large-scale projects from vision through implementation while fostering team collaboration and task commitment
  • Preferred:
    • Master’s degree in Marketing, Business or related field

Working Conditions:

  • The Product Manager will primarily work in an office environment but will travel 20% to 35% of the time to visit clients, attend conferences, and participate in industry events. The role demands effective time management, strong organizational skills, and the ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced setting.
