Overview

This position is responsible for the supervision of branch staff by directing and providing leadership as well as meeting the business banking needs of customers by developing a presence in the local community and implementing strategies to achieve goals.  This position is responsible for ensuring the branch’s compliance with security, operating policies and procedures and outside regulatory requirements and ensuring timely and accurate audits are performed according to Company policies and procedures. 


Responsibilities

  • Direct and provide leadership to the branch staff by assigning goals, coaching and reviewing results monthly with guidance of Regional Manager.  
  • Review employee performance, organize, schedule, and distribute work among assigned personnel. 
  • Maintain ongoing business relationships with present customers in order to take advantage of additional cross-selling opportunities. 
  • Understand small business financial issues and be able to add value to the business owner with guidance of the Regional Manager. 
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the features and benefits of all bank products and services in order to ascertain customer needs and to sell in conjunction with these needs,  
  • Provide direct service to business banking customers with respect to deposit, loan and other miscellaneous products and services.  
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of the Company’s operating policies and procedures. 
  • Develop small business banking in the market area and support and refer larger deals to the Commercial Lending Officer. 
  • Create a sales focus in the branch through contests, promotions, recognition and training.  
  • This position will ensure that customer service is consistently maintained at a high level. 
  • Recognize star performers, product changes, operating policy and procedure changes, service quality, current Company issues and Human Resources policy with guidance of Regional Manager. 
  • Responsible for accurate and timely completion of monthly branch audit reports, quarterly FDICIA reports and other related reports as assigned by the Branch Administrator. 
  • Provide sales information on a timely basis in order that this information may be included as part of the sales performance reports.   
  • Monitor individual sales performance and profiling versus objectives on a monthly or quarterly basis; discuss performance with the Regional Manager on a frequent basis.  
  • Responsible for safeguarding all Company assets within the branch. 
  • Work with the Security Officer to recover losses; handle returned checks, collection items and close overdrawn accounts. 
  • Make determination of cashing of unusual or large checks. 
  • Work Saturday and evening schedules as required; open and close the branch as required. 
  • May require Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System & Registry (NMLS) registration to assist with the consumer and residential lending process. 
  • Provide timely periodic reporting to the Branch Manager or Regional Manager and the Community Banking Division Manager and other appropriate groups or individuals as required throughout the Company.  
  • May participate with Branch Manager or Regional Manager in outside sales calls to increase the deposit base of the branch. 
  • Fill in at any of the Company’s other branch locations as required. 
  • Provides coverage for the Customer Service Counter, as necessary. 
  • All other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

  • An Associate’s Degree or equivalent experience. A Bachelor’s Degree is preferred. 
  • Three (3) years’ of related experience. 
  • Demonstrated management and supervisory skills. 
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, mathematic, and analytical skills.  Ability to prepare detailed written instructions and documentation.   
  • Ability to gather and analyze facts, draw conclusions, define problems, and suggest solutions.   
  • Proficient PC skills; strong Microsoft Office skills including: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. 
  • Ability to work independently and in team environment. 
  • Strong interpersonal relations and communication skills (oral and written).   
  • Ability to appropriately plan and organize; administer and prioritize; monitor and evaluate the work flow of projects and activities. 
  • Full understanding of both small business and consumer lending.
