About the Role
We’re looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Tax Staff Accountant to join our Home Office Accounting team in Birmingham, AL. This is a full-time, on-site position based in our Birmingham office. In this role, you’ll support tax compliance and reporting across the organization while gaining exposure to a wide range of accounting and regulatory functions.

What You’ll Do
Complete general tax and compliance responsibilities for the organization
Apply for and renew state and local business licenses across multiple locations
File business personal property tax returns
File and remit monthly sales and use tax
Complete wage verifications and respond to agency requests
You’ll Also Have the Opportunity to Learn and Support:
Weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual withholding filings
Quarterly unemployment filings and state unemployment requests
Reporting and payment of unclaimed wages
Quarterly estimated tax payments
Ideal Candidate
1+ years of accounting experience
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field
Experience with business licenses, personal property tax, or multi-location compliance is strongly preferred
Strong analytical, organizational, and time-management skills
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
High attention to detail with the ability to maintain confidentiality
Sense of urgency balanced with professionalism
Desire to learn, improve processes, and grow within an accounting career
Ability to work on-site in Birmingham, AL.
