TITLE: Enviromental Services Technician REPORTS TO: Faciities Services Manager CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt/Hourly POSITION SUMMARY The Environmental Services Technician is responsible for maintaining environmental and infection control standards to create a clean working environment for staff, clients and visitors. The position performs a variety of general cleaning tasks to maintain the lobby, offices, hallways and other assigned areas of the facility. The position follows standard practices and procedures and complies with regulatory requirements.    ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Dusts furniture, woodwork and equipment and dust-mops floors. Polishes and cleans fixtures in rooms and bathrooms.  Operates mechanical floor cleaners, buffers, vacuums, shampooers and related environmental service equipment.  Wet-mopped rooms, halls and other areas; shampoos rugs and furniture.  Occasionally cleans vents, fan fixtures, top of windows, doorframes and other high areas using a ladder.  Gathers and disposes of trash and waste materials using specified bags and trash compactors.  Buffs, strips, waxes and polishes floors.  Moves furniture and other heavy objects as required.  Performs terminal cleaning procedures of client/residents rooms and prepares rooms for new occupants.  Maintain outside walking areas, including sweeping debris washing walkways  Cleans and disinfects all fixtures, floors, mirrors, windows, doors and walls of bathrooms.  Makes supply packs for departments and puts linen stacks in carts for distribution. QualificationsQUALIFICATIONS High school diploma/GED and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or an equivalent number of years of education and production maintenance experience.  Exhibits a strong command of technical processes and systems essential to the role.  Must possess comprehensive knowledge of applicable building codes and safety regulations, ensuring full compliance with all tasks.  The ability to effectively utilize tools, machinery, and vehicles with precision and safety to accomplish assigned work efficiently.  Rigorously adhere to all workplace laws, regulations, and safety practices, fostering a culture of safety.  Demonstrates a thorough understanding of relevant environmental and safety laws, consistently ensuring compliance and best practices throughout the organization.  A minimum of four years’ manufacturing experience; pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills with some PLC experience and HVAC.  Associate degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance, preferred. WORK ENVIRONMENT Full-time, hourly position with standard working hours Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. – 4 p.m. or its equivalent, and evenings and/or weekends as required to participate in various events. Required to work primarily in an office environment and be able to use standard office equipment such as computer, iPad, and telephone.  Valid driver’s license and ability to use personal vehicle to travel to remote office and/or events as required.
