Position Summary

The Gift Shop Associate is a service-oriented team member with a friendly, welcoming demeanor who assists customers with their purchases. Responsibilities include accurately operating and managing the inventory system.

 

Schedule: Tuesday–Friday, 9 a.m.–4 p.m., Saturday  from 11 a.m.–4 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Helps with the ordering and restocking of sundries, snacks and drinks.
  • Models, excellent communication and customer service skills with patients and fellow employees.
  • Responsible for the accurate operation of the cash register and inventory system.
  • Prepares cash reports, and cash reconciliation.
  • Receives new shipments; unpacks boxes and prices merchandise.
  • Assists in maintaining order of merchandise displays and basic cleaning.
  • Maintains reasonably regular punctual attendance, consistent with Baptist Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state and local standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all Baptist Health policies and procedures.
  • Participates in monthly departmental meetings and all related in-services and PI activities.
  • Observes all departmental rules and regulations.
  • Interacts appropriately with a culturally diverse population.
  • Follows chain of command when communicating departmental and individual concerns or problems.
  • Knowledgeable of Patient Satisfaction goals. Works consistently to exceed the system’s objectives by reporting concerns and suggesting creative ideas.

Qualifications

Education/TrainingHigh School diploma or equivalent.

Licensure/CertificationNone.

ExperiencePrior retail experience, preferably in a boutique style shop.
