This position will be based in Birmingham, AL. The ideal candidates will reside in the Birmingham, AL area.Â
ResponsibilitiesÂ
 - Participate in security status meetings and provide reports to Security ManagersÂ
 - Work with Security Architects to develop and implement security solutionsÂ
 - Monitor security systems and analyze security events, logs, and alertsÂ
 - Assist in vulnerability assessments and penetration testing activitiesÂ
 - Document security incidents, findings, and remediation proceduresÂ
 - Work with IT teams to deploy security controls and monitor system configurationsÂ
 - Support security compliance initiatives and audit processesÂ
 - Investigate potential security incidents and escalate threats appropriatelyÂ
 QualificationsÂ
 - Working on a BS or BA degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, or related fieldÂ
 - Working knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, firewalls, VPNs)Â
 - Working knowledge of security tools (SIEM, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners)Â
 - Familiarity with security frameworks (NIST, CIS Controls, OWASP) a plusÂ
 - Basic understanding of Linux and Windows system securityÂ
 - Familiarity with common attack vectors and defensive security practicesÂ
 - High-level understanding of security lifecycle and incident responseÂ
 - Ability to work within a teamÂ
 - Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written)Â
 - Must be self-motivated and know when to seek guidanceÂ
 - Individual must be a self-starter and capable of working independently as well as part of a teamÂ
 - Capable of learning new security tools and technologiesÂ
 - Ability to provide strong problem-solving skills using a variety of analytical methodsÂ
 - Strong attention to detail and ability to identify anomaliesÂ
