The Lead Service Tech is responsible for overseeing job execution and delivering top-tier service while representing our company values—advocating for the customer, driving to solutions, and producing excellence. This is a high-impact, field-based lead role ideal for an experienced signage and lighting technician ready to take ownership of complex service jobs.

This position requires deep knowledge of lighting systems and signage, including electrical troubleshooting, repairs, and installations in commercial environments. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sign service, lighting retrofits, and electrical repairs.

Responsibilities include:
 • Perform diagnostics and repairs on all lighting, signage, and control systems (e.g., HID, LED, timers, neon, photocells, EM systems, digital signs).
 • Lead service projects through daily tasks and problem-solving scenarios.
 • Coordinate with dispatch, project managers, and customers to ensure job execution is efficient and meets all expectations.
 • Advocate for the customer by identifying needs, solving problems quickly, and delivering consistent, high-quality results.
 • Execute plans of electrical wiring, lighting, and system layouts safely and according to code.
 • Service lighting systems in commercial environments, including parking lots, channel letters, monuments, building lights, and digital signage.
 • Assemble and install conduits, electrical components, and wiring connections.
 • Troubleshoot and resolve electrical and control system issues in the field.
 • Review project documentation including maps, job tickets, and special requests to ensure readiness before arrival.
 • Operate and drive service vehicles and bucket trucks safely, responsibly, and in compliance with DOT regulations.
 • Monitor truck inventory, tool condition, and ensure proper maintenance and DOT compliance.
 • Document job status, safety checks, and material use accurately and thoroughly.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in signage and lighting service with advanced troubleshooting responsibilities. (preferred)
• Proven ability to lead service calls and coordinate directly with operations and customers.
• Extensive knowledge of lamps, ballasts, drivers, photocells, timers, and electrical control systems.
• Experience servicing electrical signs including channel letters, monument signs, and digital systems. (preferred)Â
• Proficient in use of hand tools, diagnostic instruments, aerial lifts, and bucket trucks.
• Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with the ability to resolve complex field issues independently.
• Strong communication, documentation, and organizational skills.
• Must maintain or obtain DOT certification (within first 90 days).
