Responsibilities
- Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates individualized patient care plans to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Provides age-appropriate, evidence-based nursing care while advocating for patients and families.
- Coordinates patient care and appropriately delegates responsibilities to healthcare team members.
- Collaborates with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and leadership to ensure effective patient care and unit operations.
- Documents patient assessments, treatments, medications, education, and outcomes in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Demonstrates clinical expertise, maintains competency in nursing skills and equipment, and serves as a preceptor, educator, or charge nurse as needed.
- Promotes a compassionate, safe, inclusive, and therapeutic environment while upholding patient rights and legal standards.
- Supports professional development, quality improvement initiatives, peer mentoring, organizational goals, and compliance with all policies and procedures.
Qualifications
Education/Training
- Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
- Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Baptist Health and unit/department.
Licensure/Certification
- Maintains current State of Alabama RN license.
- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
Experience
- 1 year of critical care RN experience required.
