Job DetailsJob Location: Shades Valley - Homewood, AL 35209Position Type: Full TimePrimary Summary: Under the direction of the Branch Executive Director, the Senior Program Director will provide leadership and oversight for the Membership and Wellness departments. Responsibilities include strategic planning for branch operations, including financial development and board development, program development of these departments, staff and volunteer supervision and development, fiscal management, special events, community relations, and collaborations with community agencies Essential Functions: Membership & Wellness Leadership: Implements membership and wellness strategies that support the recruitment of new members and retention of existing members. Creates a member-focused culture and models relationship-building skills in all interactions. Staff Supervision: Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers for the Membership, Front Desk, and Wellness departments. Reviews and evaluates staff performance, developing strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Branch Leadership: Provides leadership continuity and decision-making authority for the branch when the Executive Director is unavailable.  Program Oversight: Oversees the development and delivery of wellness programs, group exercise, and personal training to ensure high-quality experiences and standards. Enrollment & Promotion: Promotes program and membership enrollment in interactions with existing and potential members. Coordinates program registration logistics and collaborates with marketing to maximize enrollment across wellness and membership categories. Fiscal Management: Participates in the planning of the annual budget; manages and implements the approved budget for Membership and Wellness and takes appropriate action to correct variances. Operational Excellence: Leads proper implementation of front desk and wellness center procedures. Reviews and updates safety and operational protocols and communicates changes to staff. Community Engagement: Organizes membership and wellness events at the YMCA and represents the YMCA at community events to promote the organization’s mission. Financial Development: Leads assigned aspects of the fundraising campaign and supports board development initiatives. Professional Responsibility: Participates in staff meetings, works Professional-On-Duty shifts as assigned, and maintains a presence during evening and weekend hours as required. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous supervisory experience in customer service preferred. Excellent personal computer skills and experience with standard business software. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments the community. Demonstrated customer service orientation with the ability to develop and maintain effective relationships across departments and with donors and volunteers. Flexibility to support, as needed, the time-sensitive functions of program and/or service activities (such as special events). At least one year of experience with Daxko Operations Software. Successful completion of background and Child Abuse and Neglect screening. Acquire and maintain the following certifications within 30 days of start date via YMCA, American Red Cross, American Heart Association and American Health and Safety Institute (ASHI): First Aid/CPR /AED (valid 2 years unless otherwise noted) Requisite Online Training Modules (completed prior to start date and repeated annually Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
