Staff Accountant – responsible for managing complex accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing accurate financial reporting using a strong attention to detail, critical thinking and analysis. This role will report directly to the Controller and will support the month-end close and audit process.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and analyze financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and company policies.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of accounts to maintain accurate financial records and identify discrepancies.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies, errors, or inconsistencies in a timely manner using analytical and critical thinking skills.
- Prepare and post journal entries as needed to maintain the integrity of the general ledger.
- Support month-end, quarter-end and year-end close processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines.
- Use critical thinking to analyze financial trends, identify anomalies, and recommend solutions for process improvement
- Assist in the preparation for audits by providing necessary documentation and supporting information to external auditors.
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations regarding financial reporting and tax obligations.
- Ad-hoc reporting & analysis to support accounting leadership
Qualifications/Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field preferred
- 2+ years of experience in general ledger accounting including account reconciliations and journal entry preparation

- Health Insurance experience
- Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience
- Microsoft Excel – intermediate to advanced
