About the People Inc. Fellowship Program:

The People Inc. Fellowship Program runs from June 2026 to May 2027. The program offers candidates the opportunity to gain experience working full-time in the office with some of our most popular brands. Fellows work full-time and earn $18/hr. 

About the Team:

Located in Birmingham, Alabama, is the People Inc. Food Studios, a state-of-the-art facilityfeaturing 28 test kitchens, 13 photo studios, a prop and styling studio, an outdoor grill/BBQ station, andan expansive showcase kitchen and tasting room for demonstrations and events. Powered by a talentedteam of test kitchen professionals, stylists, and photographers, the People Inc. Food Studios is thecountry’s premier creative hub, producing thousands of world-class recipes, images, and related contentannually for People Inc.’s print, digital, and social platforms. 

Responsibilities will Include: 

  • Develop and test recipes across People Inc. print and digital brands. Deliver fully annotated recipes in style, including content deliverables, nutritional analysis, and photos for each project

  • Prepare recipes on camera for hosted social videos 

  • Assist with market order and grocery shopping; stock shared pantries and cold storage areas in the kitchen

  • Stay abreast of current cooking trends, cookbooks, and competitors in the food space 

  • Consult and assist as needed on photo shoots to ensure recipes are being executed as intended

  • File all expense reports for accounting purposes

  • Work with the Test Kitchen Manager to be a steward of the facilities

About You: 

Candidates for this role should have:

  • B.S., B.A., Culinary degree or equivalent professional cooking experience

  • Proficient with recipes: in writing according to style and able to troubleshoot a recipe just by reading it

  • You have a strong knowledge of food, including a range of cuisines, techniques and equipment

  • You are social media savvy and excited about the digital space

  • You care deeply about the way food looks and tastes and enjoy both the artistic and 

  • You are a team player and excellent at multi-tasking 

  • You’re a spirited self-started and deadline driven 

  • Highly adaptable to supporting frequent changes in direction and workflow.
