SUMMARYĀ
TheĀ Enterprise Release ManagerĀ is responsible forĀ planning, coordinating, and executing release activities across Motionās enterprise application landscape, with a primary focus onĀ commercialĀ offtheshelfĀ (COTS)Ā systems such asĀ Sterling DOM, Manhattan WMS, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and other enterprise platforms. This role ensures that version upgrades, patches, and feature releases from multiple vendors are evaluated, thoroughlyĀ validated, and deployed consistently and safely across the enterprise. The Enterprise Release Manager acts as the central orchestrator between product vendors, domain teams, QA/testing, support teams, and business stakeholders to ensure smooth, predictable, andĀ high qualityĀ releases.Ā

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIESĀ
Own and manage the enterprise release lifecycle, including planning, scheduling, coordinating, and controlling releases across all COTS and enterprise systemsĀ
Review and assess vendor version updatesāincluding release notes, patches, hotfixes, and major/minor upgradesātoĀ identifyĀ technical and business impacts and ensure alignment with operational readinessĀ
Coordinate all release validation activities, working closely with QA/testing, domain teams, and support teams to ensure functional, integration, and regression testing is completed prior to deploymentĀ
Facilitate release readiness, including checklists, quality gates, release validation evidence, and go/nogoĀ meetings with technical and business stakeholdersĀ
Oversee deployment execution, including release steps, cutover coordination, issue tracking, communications, and rollback/contingency proceduresĀ
Manage release risks, dependencies, andĀ crosssystemĀ impacts, ensuring stability of integrationsāparticularly across systems like DOM ā WMS ā ERPĀ
Maintain comprehensive release documentation, including calendars, runbooks, summaries of vendor release notes, and lessons learned to drive continuous process improvementĀ
Act as the central liaison to software vendors, coordinating timelines,Ā validatingĀ compatibility, reviewing technical updates, and escalating issues related to product releasesĀ

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEĀ
Bachelorās degree in computer science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related fieldĀ
Typically requiresĀ 10+ years of IT experience, includingĀ 5+ years focused on release managementĀ or enterprise application deliveryĀ
Experience managing releases for complex, multivendor COTS ecosystems strongly preferredĀ
Prior exposure to platforms such asĀ Sterling DOM, Manhattan WMS, and Microsoft Dynamics 365Ā is a significant plusĀ

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIESĀ
Strong understanding of theĀ release management lifecycle, including planning, testing, tracking, deployment, and communicationĀ
Demonstrated experience coordinating acrossĀ development, QA, support, operations, and vendor teamsĀ in a multisystem environmentĀ
Familiarity withĀ COTS upgrade cycles, version compatibility, and impact assessment across integrated enterprise systemsĀ
Excellent organizational skills, with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple releases concurrentlyĀ
StrongĀ problemsolvingĀ skills, with the ability toĀ anticipateĀ risks, manage dependencies, and support rapid issue resolutionĀ
Strong communicationĀ skills, with the ability to convey complex release requirements and updates to technical and nontechnical stakeholdersĀ
