Financial Counselor II - Patient Eligibility

What You Will Do:

The Financial Counselor II position will be a segway to understanding the intricate details of Financial Counseling. Team Member will be the subject matter expert and will work closely with the department Supervisor. Duties will include but not limited to assisting with training of staff, understanding the daily operations, represent the department in weekly calls with the clinical staff, understanding how to correct, read and analyze reports, creating workflow and job aids. 

What You Will Need:

• High School Diploma

• 3-5 years’ experience in Patient Eligibility and/or Financial Counseling 

• Strong knowledge in Healthquest, Advocatia, and Powercharts

• Understanding of Financial Counseling process, including POS (point of service) collections

• Knowledge of insurance benefits and insurance terminology

• Knowledge of the financial assistance program

What Would Be Nice to Have:

• Knowledge of Medicaid Application process

• Understanding of Medical Records request process

• Knowledge of SSI appeals and reapplication process

• Extensive knowledge of Patient Eligibility program qualifications for Social Security, Medicaid, and VOVC

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
