Veterinary Specialists of Birmingham (VSB) is seeking a Veterinary Client Service Receptionist to join our overnight team in Birmingham, AL. This role is ideal for someone with client service experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced veterinary, medical, or clinical environment and can provide a welcoming, professional experience for clients and their pets.
As a Veterinary Client Service Receptionist, you’ll be an important part of the hospital team, supporting clients, managing front-desk operations, and helping the hospital run smoothly during overnight hours.
Compensation
$16–$18 per hour based on experience

Responsibilities
- Provide an excellent and efficient client experience by greeting clients, answering questions, processing incoming and outgoing patients, and handling payments
- Answer incoming phone calls, screen service needs, answer questions, and schedule appointments as appropriate
- Process incoming and outgoing mail and email
- Monitor and maintain a clean, welcoming client waiting area
- Accurately document and maintain client information, service data, and other pertinent information in hospital software
- Escalate complex client or operational matters to senior team members
- Multitask and prioritize responsibilities effectively in a busy veterinary hospital
- Work collaboratively with Veterinary Technicians, veterinarians, and other hospital team members
- Support the hospital, doctors, and practice philosophy through professional and respectful interactions
- Maintain reliable attendance and punctuality
Qualifications
- 1–2 years of client service experience in a veterinary, medical, or clinical setting preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Comfortable answering phones, assisting clients, processing payments, and managing multiple priorities
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently during overnight hours
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to remain professional and compassionate when working with clients during stressful or emotional situations
- Ability to work effectively as part of a veterinary hospital team
- Regular attendance and punctuality are essential
- Fluent English speaking and reading skills required.
