Primary Purpose

Act as liaison between Mountaire Farms and independent contract growers.  Monitor and promote proper animal husbandry and animal welfare procedures that are consistent with accepted industry standards through documented weekly flock visitations and effective communication. Has ability to follow and understand animal welfare and bio security guidelines as it pertains to company certification, promotes company procedures and programs to independent contract growers to obtain top performance. Completes flock testing so flocks can be processed on time. Trains contract growers on best management practices on Biosecurity of farms.

Major Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Weekly Flock Visit/Grower Communications. Monitor and promote proper animal husbandry and animal welfare procedures that are consistent with accepted industry standards through documented weekly flock visitations and effective communication. Promotes company procedures and programs to independent contract growers to obtain top performance.
  2. Weekly Production meeting/trainings. Provide direction and support to help growers achieve their goals.
  3. Bird Health Diagnosis and Surveillance; PAW Quality Scoring.
  4. Mortality, Weight, Feed Projections/Paperwork.
  5. Safety, ensure that all company safety guidelines and protocols are carried out.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Associates degree, Bachelor's preferred.      
  • Minimum 1-2 Years in poultry production desired.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to follow and understand animal welfare and bio security guidelines as it pertains to company certification.
  • Can adapt to new policies & procedures quickly.
