POSITION SUMMARY:

Works variable shifts as assigned by the Surveillance Director. Working in concurrence with the Security Department and Casino Staff to insure that surveillance is provided throughout the casino as required by established policies and procedures. Applicant should be aware that the Wanaaha Casino is not a smoke free environment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Administratively responsible to assist with daily operations of the Bishop Casino. Assists the director in directing daily operations of the surveillance department and development, implementation and enforcement of existing and new departmental procedures and policies.
  2. Assist the Surveillance Director with the administrative responsibilities of the surveillance operations of the Casino. Must complete Surveillance training.
  3. Observe customer/employee gaming activities. Maintain a watch as assigned, observe, report, record and correct situations that could cause injury or loss.
  4. Maintain physical presence at the console and perform basic surveillance and administrative duties at the post as surveillance officer as required by staffing levels.
  5. Must be willing and able to work any shift including splits, evenings, weekends, and holidays according to established procedures. Must be available for call-ins on an emergency basis.
  6. Ensure that rules and laws applicable to the gaming operation are effectively enforced by direct compliance and reporting violations to appropriate authorities as necessary. Must be knowledgeable of all Bishop Gaming Enterprise Gaming policies and internal procedures and be willing to enforce and abide by those procedures.
  7. Poor attendance or a poor attitude will not be tolerated. An excellent attitude and appearance is dictate and demanded at all times. Must always be in proper uniform and always be friendly and courteous.
  8. All other gaming and job related duties as assigned by Supervisor.


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

  1. High School Diploma, HSED, or GED is required. Additional education beyond high school, military and job related experience would take precedence in selection.
  2. Must be 21 years of age or older and in good physical condition.
  3. Must be familiar with blackjack and all poker game procedures and have CCTV video equipment and nomenclature training.
  4. Must meet requirements to qualify for a Bishop Gaming License. Must pass an extensive background security check. Can have no felony convictions and no serious misdemeanor convictions, within the past 10 years; no records of criminal convictions of any kind in the past five years other than traffic violations.
  5. The ability to maintain department standards by performing corrective disciplinary action on department employees as per company policy in a timely manner when department policy infractions occur. 
  6. Ability to inform and communicate orally and in writing in diverse and challenging situations is required. Ability to process information effectively, to learn new materials, identify, and define problems and to make decisions is required. Knowledge of standard and accepted Surveillance department methods and procedures required.
  7. Must posses the ability to interact with the public, fellow employees, tribal enterprises, county and state agencies demonstrating respect, tact, courtesy, objectivity, maturity to develop an effective and cooperative working relationship.
  8. Ability to maintain confidentiality in all matters.
  9. Must possess a driver’s license and reliable transportation. Must maintain driver’s certification as a condition of employment. Must have and maintain a home telephone for immediate contact.
  10. Experience and training in surveillance/security and clerical is preferred. A demonstrated ability in the operation and performance of surveillance equipment and previous work experience is helpful.
  11. Must be able to pass a drug test prior to employment and periodically thereafter.
