EEG Technologist / Neurodiagnostic Technologist

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced EEG Technologist / Neurodiagnostic Technologist to join a growing neurodiagnostic team. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in neurodiagnostics and be skilled in performing EEG procedures, patient preparation, equipment operation, troubleshooting, and accurate documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized electroencephalography (EEG) procedures.
  

• Prepare patients physically and emotionally for neurodiagnostic procedures.
  

• Follow established patient safety, infection control, and sterilization protocols.
  

• Monitor and record EEG data accurately according to established procedures.
  

• Identify and summarize relevant patterns and findings in collected data.
  

• Prepare clear and accurate reports for review by physicians.
  

• Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and perform basic maintenance of neurodiagnostic equipment.
  

• Identify equipment malfunctions and document and report issues to the appropriate supervisor.
  

• Maintain adequate inventory of medical and technical supplies and request replenishment as needed.
  

• Explain equipment use, safety procedures, and sterilization requirements to patients and staff when appropriate.
  

• Follow departmental policies, data-gathering procedures, and quality standards.
  

• Participate in inpatient EEGs, ICU long-term monitoring, and neonatal EEG procedures as required.
  

• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule.
  

Required Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
  

• Minimum 1 year of experience in neurodiagnostics.
  

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  

• At least one of the following credentials:
  

  • Registered Electroencephalographic Technologist (R. EEG T.)
    

  • Registered Evoked Potentials Technologist (R. EP T.)
    

  • Certified Nerve Conduction Technologist (CNCT)
    

  • Registered Nerve Conduction Study Technologist (R.NCS.T.)
    

Preferred Qualifications

• R. EEG T. certification preferred but not required.
  

• RPSGT certification preferred but not required.
  

• Experience with inpatient, ICU, long-term monitoring, or neonatal EEG procedures is a plus.
  

• Familiarity with electronic medical records and neurodiagnostic systems is preferred.
  

Equipment & Systems

Experience with the following systems is beneficial:

• Epic / OneChart
  

• Natus Xltek neurodiagnostic equipment
  

Work Environment

The successful candidate will work as part of a small, collaborative neurodiagnostic team. The department provides EEG services including inpatient EEGs, ICU long-term monitoring, and neonatal EEGs.
