As a summer Swim Instructor at our YMCA, you'll have the opportunity to help students of all ages learn to swim in a fun and safe environment. In this role, you can look forward to: Delivering high-quality, safe swimming lessons that ensure every moment in the water counts toward our students' learning and water exploration. Implementing the YMCA Swim Lessons curriculum to make a positive impact on our students' lives by teaching and modeling water skills and water safety. Collaborating with our Lifeguards to set up the pool area for lessons and help maintain a clean, safe environment. Keeping student records, following the guidance of the Aquatics Director. Following a well-structured lesson plan for each session. Part Time Shifts Available: Monday-Friday: 9:00 am-11:00 am Monday-Thursday: Noon-2:00 pm 5:00 pm-6:30 pm Group Swim Lesson Sessions and Private Swim Lessons Available!QualificationsWe are looking for someone who displays the YMCA values of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility. We provide an excellent YMCA Swim Instructor training program--(Water Safety Instructor (WSI) or Lifeguard Certification not required). CPR & First Aid Certification and Child Abuse prevention training courses must be completed within 90 days of hire and are provided by the YMCA. This position is open to candidates ages 16 and older.
