Job DetailsJob Location: Black Eagle C-Store - Black Eagle, MT 59414Position Type: Full-Time/Part-TimeJOB SUMMARY   The Clerk serves as a primary point of contact for Mountain View Co-op (MVC) customers and plays a key role in delivering excellent customer service while supporting daily retail operations. This position is responsible for assisting customers, processing sales transactions, maintaining merchandise displays, monitoring inventory, and promoting a clean, safe, and organized work environment. Clerks are expected to demonstrate professionalism, integrity, teamwork, and a commitment to MVC's customer-focused culture.   REPORTING RELATIONSHIP   Reports to the Location Manager.   ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES   Customer Service Provide prompt, courteous, and professional customer service. Greet customers and assist with product selection, purchases, and inquiries. Handle customer concerns and complaints professionally, escalating issues when appropriate. Inform customers of current promotions, specials, and related products. Communicate safe product handling procedures when applicable. Retail Operations Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately and efficiently. Process cash, credit, and account transactions in accordance with company policies. Maintain accurate cash handling and cash control procedures. Follow MVC credit and sales policies. Assist with receiving, stocking, pricing, rotating, merchandising, and facing products. Monitor inventory levels and notify management of stock shortages or issues. Ensure perishable products are rotated, stored, and refrigerated in accordance with company procedures. Maintain a clean, organized, and customer-ready sales floor, warehouse, and work areas. Store Support Assist with basic facility, grounds, and equipment maintenance as assigned. Report maintenance, safety, operational, or customer service concerns to management. Provide feedback and recommendations to supervisors regarding store operations and customer needs. Support special projects, seasonal activities, and other operational needs as assigned.   Safety & Compliance Follow all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements. Maintain awareness of workplace hazards and practice safe work habits. Safely handle and work in proximity to petroleum products, propane, fertilizers, agricultural chemicals, and other regulated products as required by the location. Report accidents, injuries, near misses, and unsafe conditions immediately. Comply with all applicable federal, state, local, and company regulations.   General Expectations Establish and maintain positive working relationships with customers, coworkers, vendors, and management. Report to work on time, fit for duty, and in compliance with company dress code and grooming standards. Perform other duties as assigned.   ESSENTIAL SKILLS & ABILITIES Knowledge of: Customer service principles and practices Cash handling procedures Basic mathematics General retail operations MVC products and services Computer systems, POS systems, and basic Microsoft Office applications Safety rules, procedures, and practices   Ability to: Provide exceptional customer service in a fast-paced environment. Work varied schedules, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed. Report to work regularly and punctually.   MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS   Preferred Education & Experience High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent preferred. Previous customer service, retail, or cashier experience preferred.
