Position Description

The Planner I supports production planning and material coordination to ensure timely execution of manufacturing schedules in a regulated aerospace environment.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with creating and maintaining production schedules based on demand, capacity, and material availability.
  • Release and manage work orders in ERP/MRP systems, namely IFS.
  • Monitor progress against production schedules and report schedule adherence, delivery risks, and significant variances.
  • Escalate material shortages, schedule risks, and production issues in a timely manner.
  • Track work-in-process (WIP) and update production schedules as needed.
  • Support the implementation of approved engineering changes by coordinating with Engineering, Quality, and Production and updating affected part numbers, work orders, and planning information in IFS, as directed.
  • Maintain and update planning parameters in IFS.
  • Develop shop floor control knowledge through on-the-job training and daily planning activities.
  • Use Excel to organize, analyze, and report planning and production data.
  • Communicate schedule updates and material concerns to Production and cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in team meetings, process improvement activities, and other departmental initiatives.
  • Support inventory control and cycle count activities.
  • Proactively suggest and support process improvements within the Planning function.
  • Maintain documentation in accordance with AS9100 requirements and internal procedures.
  • Contribute to a positive, cooperative work environment through effective communication and teamwork.

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 2+ years of experience in production planning, material coordination, manufacturing, or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Basic understanding of production planning and/or the movement of materials within an ERP system.
  • Proficient computer skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Excel to analyze data.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and changing requirements while meeting deadlines.
  • Ability to interpret basic technical or manufacturing documentation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to complete assigned tasks accurately and on time.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Must be a US Citizen.

 

This position is located 100% onsite at our Black Mountain NC facility.  Relocation assistance is not available.
