We’re seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to provide exceptional perioperative care and support patients through every stage of surgery. In this role, you’ll work with patients of all ages—from newborns to seniors—ensuring their safety and comfort. Job Summary:

  • Shift Details: Full-time, working 4 per week (32 hours/week), Monday–Friday. Plus call rotation. 
  • Perform admission assessments, develop care plans, and complete informed consent in the preoperative setting.
  • Assess patient and family learning needs preoperatively and ensure understanding of procedures, discharge instructions, and follow-up care.
  • Provide care for patients of all ages and follow appropriate procedures for changes in patient condition.
  • Administer medications in line with the six rights of medication administration, adhering to narcotic control procedures.
  • Advocate for patient safety in the operating room by maintaining aseptic and sterile techniques.
  • Anticipate intraoperative needs of the provider and team, assist anesthesia, and participate in OR turnover.
  • Provide care in the post-anesthesia care unit, completing comprehensive patient assessments through discharge.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in completing both scheduled and emergent procedures, taking an equal share of on-call duties.
  • Maintain open communication with the RN Manager and contribute to the hospital's mission, vision, and values.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Current RN licensure in the state of Nebraska or Iowa
  • Current BLS certification (required)
  • ACLS certification (required within 60 days of hire)
  • PALS certification (required within 90 days of hire)
  • NRP certification (required within 6 months of hire)
  • Preferred: 2 years of Operating Room experience
