Penn Machine Company is a proven 100+ year old local company in a growth industry.  We are a leading manufacturer of products and services for the transit, railroad, mining, and oil/gas industries. 

Currently we have an excellent full-time employment opportunity available in our Blairsville, PA facility.

Job Responsibilities

• Disassemble and assemble transit wheel set assemblies and their components, using proper fixtures, mechanical devices and hydraulic presses.

• Dimensional inspection, documentation and assembly of transit wheel set assemblies and components.

• Test requalified or manufactured product to specifications

• Perform magnetic particle and ultrasonic inspection (if certified)

• Clean, mask, paint or apply coatings to components.

• Prepare parts and assemblies for shipment

• Detailed documentation and recordkeeping

Qualifications

• Basic mechanical assembly experience or training certification in a related field preferred.

• Basic mathematical skills

• Experience using precision measuring instruments

• Accuracy in completing reports/documentation and with reading and understanding written directions and procedures

• Machine shop environment background preferred

• Self-motivated and willing to work with minimal supervision

Normal schedule is four 10 hour shifts, Monday-Thursday, however, the individual must be willing and able to work overtime, alternate shifts, and/or weekends, when needed.
