Benefits:
- Employee discounts
- Flexible schedule
- Opportunity for advancement
About This Opportunity This isn't a role where you show up, teach a class, and go home. This is a leadership position at a brand-new location in Bloomfield Hills, one of Michigan's most family-forward communities and the heartbeat of everything that happens on our gym floor will run through you.
You'll report directly to the Gym Director and own what matters most: the quality of every class, the growth of every instructor, and the experience of every child and family who walks through our doors. If you're someone who takes genuine pride in doing things the right way and who lights up when a nervous three-year-old finally nails a forward roll, this is your place.
What You'll Do
- Lead and teach classes rooted in The Little Gym's proven curriculum, setting the standard for energy, safety, and child engagement every single time you're on the floor
- Serve as the primary coach and mentor for our instructor team — modeling excellence, providing feedback, and developing staff who deliver consistently great classes
- Ensure every member interaction reflects the warmth, professionalism, and fun that keeps families coming back
- Identify and address gaps in class quality, staff performance, or member experience before they become problems
- Partner with the Gym Director on scheduling, programming, and the day-to-day rhythm of gym operations
- Help build the culture of this location from the ground up, the kind of place families talk about and kids beg to come back to
What We're Looking For
- Experience teaching or coaching children, ideally in gymnastics, dance, physical education, or a related enrichment environmentÂ
- Gymnastics experience preferredÂ
- A natural coach, someone who makes the people around them better and takes that responsibility seriously
- Background in child development is a strong plus
- High energy, exceptional follow-through, and a floor presence that kids and parents both respond to
- 1+ years in a lead instructor or supervisory role preferred
- A genuine belief that what happens in this gym matters — to the kids, to the families, and to you
Compensation
- $22 - $24/hour
- Guaranteed minimum of 30 hours per week
- Hours will typically exceed the minimum as the location grows
Growth & Opportunity We're building something here, and we want people who want to grow with it. Strong performers will have real opportunities to take on more responsibility and step into larger roles over time. We believe in promoting from within.
Why This Role You'll have the backing of a globally recognized brand, hands-on support from ownership, and the rare opportunity to help shape something new in a community that values exactly what we offer. The families we serve aren't just looking for somewhere to drop their kids off, they're looking for people they trust. We're looking for someone who wants to be that person.
