SUMMARY


Responsible for performing various assembly, machining and blending operations in accordance with WGPW established methods and practices. 

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 

The position includes but is not limited to the following essential duties and responsibilities. 


  • Operation of Bridgeport
  • Operation of Surface Grinder
  • Disassembly, Rework and Assembly of aerospace components
  • Cleaning parts by hand using brushes, scotch brite, wire wheels, varsol and other various cleaning solvents and abrasive blast methods.
  • Removing broken bolts and hardware. 
  • Chasing threads and installing heli coils or threaded inserts as required.
  • Modification work such as blending, deburring and polishing.
  • Removing and replacing airseals, nut plates, helicoils and other miscellaneous hardware using associated equipment. 
  • Use and interpretation of appropriate technical data, including but not limited to travelers, blue prints and other technical data as provided.
  • Performs tooling repair in support of the engine shop
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area and adheres to all housekeeping requirements. Follows all safety procedures and rules and properly wears all safety protective equipment as required.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE


  • High school or equivalent plus Three years of related machine shop experience.
  • Previous experience in the use of hand tools, air tools and riveting equipment and processes.
  • Experience with precision measuring equipment.
  • Experience in operation of milling and surface grinding machines
  • Experience in the overhaul and repair of aviation components is a strong plus.
