Job DetailsJob Location: CT - Drapelick Center - Bloomfield, CT 06002Position Type: Full TimeEducation Level: Bachelors DegreeTravel Percentage: Up to 50% Job Shift: First ShiftAssistant Program Director, Drapelick Center Program Overview Community Solutions Inc. is seeking a self-motivated, detailed oriented Assistant Program Director II to join our team at Drapelick Center, Bloomfield, CT.   As an Assistant Program Director, you will be responsible for assisting the Program Director in management of all program services and operations. Ensure community safety and effective program operation through internal and external monitoring of client activities and program services. Assume duties and responsibilities in the absence of the Program Director. In this position, the responsibilities will be: Staff Development and Supervision: Supervise staff work and shift activities, relating to both security and case management, and oversee staff response to all shift problems and emergency incidents. Perform the functions of counselor/case manager that relate to client supervision, treatment, community service and custody as needed. Meet regularly with assigned staff to review job performance and client caseload management.  Recommend and oversee corrective action on above as appropriate. Monitor staff performance in accordance with position job description and compliance with all policies and procedures Complete staff performance appraisals. Review monthly all client files for organization and content. Conduct and facilitate staff training using in-service and outside agency resources. Oversee orientation and training of new staff. Prepare meeting agenda and participate in staff meetings. Prioritize staff work efforts and assign or delegate additional duties as required. Policy and Program Monitoring Supervise weekend program monitoring including weekly preparation and follow-up. Supervise the completion of urine collections, telephone spot checks and employment and home site visits of clients to verify and document client movement and record information, where required. Monitor program operation for compliance with Agency policy and procedure, applicable Standards and relevant contractual policy. Participate in on-call Agency Duty-Officer rotation as assigned. Formulate program goals and objectives and establish program priorities. Client Supervision: Participate in all client admissions, orientation and terminations. Supervise maintenance of all client-related information and logs. Perform all duties of Program Director during periods of her/his absence, as applicable. Community and Outside Agency Relations: Approve and coordinate client referrals and intakes from respective contracting agencies. Identify, coordinate, and monitor existing and new outside agency resources for program and agency use. Develop contacts with outside agencies and individuals which may foster agency and program growth. Participate in community civic groups or Advisory Boards/committees, Board of Directors' committee meetings, training sessions, and community presentations/speaking engagements as assigned by the Executive Director. Maintain a working knowledge of and abide by the Agency’s programs, policies, and procedures. QualificationsQualifications  A Bachelor’s Degree and three years’ experience in the social service or criminal justice field.  Education may be substituted with relevant experience on a one year for one year basis. One year experience in management and supervision of staff required. Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills desired. Experience with Microsoft Office Additional Benefits  Two (2) weeks’ vacation accrued within the first year, bumped to three (3) weeks accrual after 1 year of service. Sick time (7 days accrual basis), floating holiday time (4 days/year). Medical and Dental plans.
