Job DetailsJob Location: Bloomfield, CT 06002Position Type: Full TimeJob Shift: 2nd ShiftJob Category: DOT - Safety Sensitive PositionSUMMARY:  The Blend Technician I is responsible for performing basic blending operations on aerospace components to meet quality standards and customer specifications. This position involves working with precision equipment and tools to ensure smooth surfaces, removal of defects, and restoration of parts to their original specifications.   DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Perform basic blending, smoothing, contouring, and deburring of aerospace components using hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring equipment. Follow work orders, technical instructions, standard practice manuals, and established procedures to complete assigned work. Learn to read and interpret basic blueprints, technical drawings, and component specifications Identify and correct minor surface defects such as dents, scratches, or gouges on surfaces. Learn to use precision measuring instruments, including calipers and micrometers, to verify tolerances and ensure proper part dimensions. Conduct visual inspections of completed work to ensure quality standards are met and report quality concerns to appropriate team member Maintain detailed records of work performed, parts used, and inspections conducted. Perform minor assembly and disassembly of engine components according to standard practice manuals and maintenance instructions. Other duties as assigned. QualificationsMINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:  High school or equivalent. 1 years of relevant technical or hands-on work experience, such as automotive repair, mechanical work, manufacturing, machining, metalworking, or a similar field. Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and comfort working with hand and power tools. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Willingness and ability to learn blending techniques, precision measuring equipment, and aerospace quality requirements. Effective communication and teamwork skills.   PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS: Previous experience in blending, aerospace, manufacturing, automotive repair, machining, metalworking, or a related technical environment. Familiarity with technical drawings, work instructions, or precision measuring instruments.   OTHER:  The selected applicant will be subject to a background check and DOT drug testing.
