Kamatics is seeking Machinists (2nd Shift) across multiple experience levels (III, IV, and V) to join our team in Bloomfield, CT. This role supports the production of high-precision aerospace components by setting up, operating, and troubleshooting CNC machining equipment in a dynamic manufacturing environment.
Candidates may range from experienced machinists building on foundational skills to highly skilled machinists capable of independently performing complex setups, optimizing machining processes, and supporting others on the team.

Key Responsibilities:
- Set up, operate, adjust, and troubleshoot CNC machine tools to perform progressive machining operationsÂ
- Execute machining operations including drilling, boring, milling, turning, honing, threading, and related processes within machine capabilitiesÂ
- Work from programs, operation sheets, blueprints, and setup instructions to execute precision machining processesÂ
- Manage tooling, fixturing, material clamping, offsets, and console settings to ensure part accuracy and repeatabilityÂ
- Verify parts for conformance to engineering drawings and GD&T requirements using appropriate inspection methodsÂ
- Identify and resolve machining, tooling, or program-related issues to maintain quality and productivityÂ
- Maintain production documentation and follow all safety, quality, and environmental proceduresÂ
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce scrap, and enhance overall qualityÂ
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environmentÂ
Additional Responsibilities (Based on Experience Level)
- Perform full machine setups independently on complex parts and multi-axis CNC equipmentÂ
- Validate and prove out programs; make adjustments to optimize cycle times, quality, and machining performanceÂ
- Troubleshoot advanced machining processes, tooling, and programming issuesÂ
- Provide technical guidance and training to less experienced machinistsÂ
- Identify and implement process improvements across operationsÂ
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED requiredÂ
- Machining or technical training certificate preferredÂ
Experience
- 1-5+ years of CNC machining experience in a manufacturing environmentÂ
- Experience level, scope of responsibility, and complexity of work will vary based on candidate backgroundÂ
Skills & Knowledge
- Understanding of CNC machining principles, processes, and best practicesÂ
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T requirementsÂ
- Proficiency in shop math and precision measurement toolsÂ
- Experience with CNC machine operations, including offsets (geometry and wear), dry runs, and program adjustmentsÂ
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsÂ
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
